Great work, Dragons!

Mrs. Schmitz' 7th grade English students participated in an essay contest through the VFW. Our friends from the VWF came to award Caroline Littlewood (3rd), Katie Eddins (2nd) and Temperance Buntin (1st) their Patriot Pins! #BeADragon

Sixth graders in Mrs. Vulgamott's Language Arts classes were able to analyze evidence to support their claim of who hates Christmas more; The Grinch or Ebeneezer Scrooge. Students read the two texts, and watched both movies to provide evidence. They then used their knowledge to have a debate with others in their classroom...and maybe Mrs. Kountz.

Sixth grade was striking it up today! Students have spent the last few classes working on their bowling skills. Thanks to Mrs. Duran for turning up the excitement with some cosmic blowing!

Mrs. Mattson's 7th grade art students brainstormed powerful words, and talked about radial symmetry and gradients in their preparation for their Mandala projects. #BeADragon

Students in Mr. Underwood's Leadership class researched characters from "Travelers Summit" and gave oral presentations. #BeADragon

"Dragons, We Shrunk the 5th Graders!"
The 5th graders used virtual reality to shrink themselves so they could explore a backyard full of plants going through the process of photosynthesis. While exploring, they were able to gather evidence to explain what plants need for growth. Using energy from the sun, plants take in carbon dioxide and water to produce a sugar called glucose. The plants use this glucose to grow and produce food for animals and humans to eat. When they were finished exploring, the 5th graders had to use the evidence they collected to produce a written claim, evidence, and reasoning statement.

Students in Mrs. Anderson's Algebra II are simplifying expressions with complex numbers. #BeADragon

Mrs. Fritz, Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Schwope are digging into some deep learning about intervention and ensuring everybody learns at high levels. #DragonsLearn

Fifth-grade students learned all about adding fractions today! Students tackled adding fractions with common denominators, thanks to the power of number lines. Great job, fifth graders!
