Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Chantelle Schwope as the new 7-12 Principal at Mid-Buchanan R-V. Mrs. Schwope and her husband, Eddie, celebrated 22 years of marriage in January. Together, they have four children– Grace (21), Alli (17), Ella (16), and Jake (8). As a student at Stewartville High School she had the opportunity to cadet teach and found her calling as an educator. She then attended Missouri Western State University to obtain a degree in Elementary Education with additional certification in K-12 Special Education. She later earned her Masters in K-12 Educational Leadership from William Woods University. Mrs. Schwope has 16 years of educational experience. She spent her first six years at Eugene Field Elementary in St. Joseph where she taught both 5th grade and special education. At the encouragement of a supervisor, she made the leap and found a love for the high school world where she taught six years of high school special education and math at Central High School and Savannah High School. Most recently, she has served as the PK-12 Principal in the Stewartsville C-2 School District for the past four years. Outside of school, you are likely to find her at church–where she serves on the worship team, enjoys teaching VBS each summer, and is on the Missions Committee–or at a ball field or court supporting her children or 13 nieces and nephews. Any time she can spend with family is time she thoroughly enjoys. Mrs. Schwope believes that having the opportunity to work in school administration allows her to serve and impact more students and staff. She is truly passionate about seeing students succeed at school and in life. She is ready to serve the Dragon Nation and work diligently to ensure we are meeting the district's mission: 'To prepare ALL students to become successful, productive citizens through learning each day'.

Cook what you grow! Today fifth and sixth grade students made pancakes out of items that they are growing in the garden. Mrs. Boyer also spoke about the importance of hygiene and safety when cooking. Students worked in groups of 4 to make banana, zucchini, buttermilk, and pumpkin pancakes. There favorite part was sampling the finished products!
