Introducing Jeanette Malita to the Mid-Buchanan Family!
We are thrilled to welcome Jeanette Malita to our fifth-grade team for the 2024 - 25 school year! Jeanette joins us with an impressive background in education and a passion for teaching that spans over two decades.
Jeanette, along with her husband Chad, have been happily married for 27 years. Together, they have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Sam and Will. Family is at the heart of everything Jeanette does, and she brings that same warmth and care into her classroom.
With a master's degree in elementary education, Jeanette brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our school. Her journey in education began at Hosea Elementary School in St. Joseph, where she dedicated ten years to teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. For the past 12 years, she has worked at St. Francis Xavier School, specializing in 3rd grade.
Now, Jeanette embarks on an exciting new chapter as she joins the Mid-Buchanan family. Her dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment and her commitment to student success make her a valuable addition to our team. We can't wait to see the positive impact she'll have on our students and community.
Please join us in extending a warm Dragon welcome to Jeanette Malita! We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to the incredible journey ahead.
Introducing Rileigh Veale: Mid Buchanan Elementary Art Teacher!
Let's give a warm Mid-Buchanan welcome to Rileigh Veale, who will be joining us as the elementary art teacher for the upcoming school year! Rileigh brings a vibrant energy and a passion for creativity to our team.
Originally from Savannah, MO, Rileigh's journey in art education has taken her from the heart of Missouri to the halls of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. There, she fine-tuned her skills and developed her love for teaching art.
Beyond the canvas, Rileigh's heart belongs to her two beloved dogs, Tank and Bandit, and nothing brings her more joy than spending quality time with her family.
An adventurer at heart, Rileigh has already explored 11 National Parks and plans to add three more to her list over the summer. Her dream? To visit every single National Park, and with her adventurous spirit, we have no doubt she'll achieve it!
As she joins the Dragon family, Rileigh is eager to share her love of art with our students and become an integral part of our community. We can't wait to see the creativity and inspiration she'll bring to our classrooms.
Please join us in welcoming Rileigh Veale to Mid-Buchanan!
COMMUNITY NEWSLETTER CHANGE
Dragon Fans,
Last month we learned that due to new protocols and rate requirements, the cost for the district to continue mailing the approximate 1,200 community newsletters is going to quadruple. At this time, we currently spend around $250 to $300 each month. This increased expense is not sustainable at this time. Please note the following changes regarding the community newsletter.
1. If you are a parent of students in the district, the newsletter will be scanned and sent electronically to the email we have on file in our student information system. The goal each month is for the newsletter to be released within 3 to 5 days following the monthly Board of Education meeting.
2. We will be posting each month's newsletter on our website. Starting next week, the April newsletter can be found by going to www.midbuchanan.k12.mo.us, click on the 'Menu' tab in the upper right corner, scroll down to the 'District' section of the menu, and then click on the 'Community Newsletter' tab.
3. If you are a district patron, but do not have children in the district to receive a newsletter by email, it is my intent to still do our best to mail out paper copies to those without electronic access. If you, or someone you know, is interested in receiving a paper copy of the newsletter, please call Stacey Rasco in the Central Office at 816-268-1646 to be placed on the mailing list.
Thanks so much for your understanding and patience as we make this transition.
Jay
