It's Science Fun Friday in 5th Grade! First, 5th graders participated in an ecosystems scavenger hunt using a variety of magazines from the Missouri Department of Conservation. As they were reading through the magazine articles, they had to identify different types of producers, consumers, and decomposers in various ecosystems. Next, students were given a handful of animal crackers to use in the creation of their very own food web model. When they were finished, they had to write an explanation about energy transfer in their food web. Finally, students got to enjoy their animal crackers while they watched an episode of Bill Nye the Science Guy centered around food webs.
